Helping your tech company reach $100 million
Lost data may lead to lost business and send any business owner in a panic. Recognizing this pain point, Rewind was founded to develop backup and restore solutions that would allow companies to breathe a sigh of relief, knowing their data is safe no matter what happens.
Rewind’s platform enables companies to back up, restore, and copy the critical data that drives their business; users are able to recover anything from a small data entry error to a massive, account-wide data disaster in the blink of an eye. According to Mike Potter, CEO and co-founder,
“What Rewind is doing is giving the power back to the shop owner to be able to take control of their data.”
Today, over 80,000 customers in more than 100 countries use Rewind’s top-reviewed apps and support to ensure their software-as-a-service applications run uninterrupted. The company has landed large cloud partners such as BigCommerce, Mailchimp, Shopify and QuickBooks Online.
“Building reliable, secure backups is an opportunity that has the potential to scale across hundreds of applications and be part of the backbone of the way millions of businesses work and store their data,” said Magaly Charbonneau, a partner at Inovia Capital, a leading investor for Rewind.
It is this high market potential that has had Rewind favoured by venture capital firms. In January 2021, Rewind closed on a $19 million CAD Series A round of financing. A month later, Rewind acquired BackHub, the leading Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) software for GitHub repositories. These strategic moves are expected to expand Rewind’s reach and further expedite the company’s journey to scale and reach $100 million.
Rewind joined Invest Ottawa’s accelerator program in 2015 and achieved 100% year-over-year growth during its time there. In 2019, Rewind graduated into Invest Ottawa’s ScaleUp program to further its growth.
